Eat the Rich: A Treatise on Economics P. J. O'Rourke
Publisher: Grove/Atlantic, Inc.

O'Rourke does the heavy studying for you. Out of print I guess, but readily obtainable if you never read this wise but highly entertainingátreatise on basic economics. Or actually he gets someone else to. O'Rourke's Eat the Rich: A Treatise on Economics is pretty good satire on market behavior. In his generally spot on and frequently funny treatise on economics, "Eat the Rich," the CATO scholar writes: "Wall Street's free-market capitalism is doubtless a wonderful thing and a boon to humanity, but scared me. Until such time as people are using these phrases to actually mean 'we should definitely kill and eat rich people to get us through this tough winter without starving' instead of 'man, rich people sure whine a lot about the kinds of problems that most people can only dream of having' I think it's probably not something we need to 'do better'. O'Rourke's 1988áEat the Rich begins thus. Customer Rating : 4.0 List Price : $ 14.00 Availibility :Usually ships in 1-2 business days. If you want to understand economics better without actually taking any economics courses, read Eat the Rich: A Treatise on Economics. Despite a slight left lean I subscribe to the PJ O'Rourke theory of economics, most eloquently set out in his 1998 "Eat the Rich: A Treatise on Economics". O'Rourke's book “Eat the Rich”, a Treatise on Economics, ought to be required reading for every college student who aspires to a degree in Economics. Or required reading for anyone who is teaching Economics. Then get a shirt like the one you're looking at .. Posted by DRJIMMIES at 03:31 PM | 42 COMMENTS | permalink | Comment on This Entry |.
